My First Affiliate Marketing Mistake
Before I started my first working campaign, I already had a couple of offers running through AdWord traffic. The problem with these campaigns was that I was using the wrong link. I was linking directly to the offer, instead of the special tracking link. Because of this stupid mistake, none of my leads were credited.
After running the offer for a couple of days and spending almost $10 on promoting it, I talked to my affiliate manager at Copeac and asked him why the leads in my campaign weren’t crediting. He didn’t know what the problem was at first, but he figured out the problem after I showed him the URL that I was using.
Venturing into Affiliate Marketing
I have spent the past couple of months reading about all of the affiliate marketers who make thousands of dollars a day, working straight from home. I started reading blogs, watching shows, and participating in forums to find out as much as I could. I also signed up with two affiliate networks; Copeac and Market Leverage. Out of the two, Copeac is the simplest and easiest.
On August 6th I started my first working campaign promoting a PPL (Pay Per Lead) offer for which I used Copeac. I am using pay per click traffic from Google AdWords to promote my leads.
It has been four days since I first ventured into affilate markating, and I am in the negative with -$13.00.
I spent $38.39 advertising with Google Adwords.
I earner $25.30 from the PPL Campaign.
Although I am at a loss, I am still in a positive mood because I am still figuring out witch keywords work and which don’t. I hope that by then end of next week, I will be able to post a net profit.
