The Importance of Marketing

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

We live in a private enterprise economy, matching production and consumption is not always a easy job. Individual companies sell what they want and individual people buy what they want. In order for our economy to work there must be a method to help both the consumer and the company that produces the product, to make the correct decision. If done well marketing can make consummation and production great friends. Though you may think that marketing is just a company putting an ad on TV, to try to sell their product. There is a lot that goes down behind the scenes that involves marketing the average consumer does not know about. Such as getting the product packaged up, getting the correct price, having a well known brand name. To add to this products most likely have to be stored before the consumer buys them, and there needs to be money to finance the product before it’s stored. All of these steps have one thing in common, that being they all are part of marketing. There is a lot of time and effort that companies have to put in to marketing.

If you don’t believe what I am saying then take a read of what the American Marketing Association defines marketing as “The process of planning and executing the conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of ideas, goods, and services to create exchanges that satisfy individual and organizational objective.” Though marketing is used to match supply with demand, it is also used to get the word out to the consumer about the product that the company is selling. This goes to say the company does not screw anything up.

Though you may not think about it, you the consumer see marketing from the moment you wake up. From watching an ad on TV to seeing a FedEx box being delivered these are all parts of marketing. At this very moment there are millions of businesses around the globe that are involved in marketing as their primary business activity.

I hope by reading this you learn to understand that just because it takes less than 5 minutes to get an ad spot using Google AdSense, to get anything back from your money, will involve plenty of research, in order to get your marketing right. Also don’t forget that marketing can also create big trouble for your business if not initiated correctly.

TNX Review

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

TNX LogoTNX is a revolutionary new site that that allows advertisers to easily buy links, and publishers to easily sell them. It is designed in such a way that is SEO effective because the company has developed a special method that makes all links look unique and therefore will not be penalized by Google.

Point System

TNX.net has created a system in which you buy and sell links with points. In this system, 1000 points cost just over a dollar. Each one of these points can buy you one link on a PR0 site, but the higher the pagerank the more points necessary to buy a link. The following shows how many links can be bought with 1000 (about $1) points based upon pagerank:

1000 PR0
20 PR1
10 PR2
5 PR3
2 PR4
1 PR5

The points can also be sold back to TNX.net for cash. In this way, you can either use the points you earned to advertise on other’s sites, or you can cash in and reap the rewards.

When joining TNX, you are instantly given 2000 points. You can earn an additional 5000 points by posting on this thread in the DigitalPoint forums. An interesting thing about the point system is the fact that the value of one changes each and every week. TNX states that the cost of points raises about 2% each and every week. In this sense it is like a savings back, in which the longer amount of time and the more amount of points you have, the more the points are eventually worth. They also have a great affiliate program which you should definitely check out.

Link Choice

TNX sets itself apart not only with its point system, but also that it allows you to choose which links you would like to have on your site. This is very refreshing, because many if not most other services have the advertisers choose the publishers and this discriminates against the smaller sites. Shouldn’t all sites be treated equally? Exactly, and TNX has utilized this need and provided a solution to it.

Overall

I am pretty happy with the TNX system overall as it is very easy to use, includes many useful features that other services lack, and the design is simple and easy on the eyes. From an advertisers point of view the system is very appealing due to the pricing, and the system can be a great source of revenue from a publishers point of view, especially if you have a highly pageranked site.

Sell links on every page of your site to thousands of advertisers!
