ijji.com Review - GunZ, Drift City, Rounders, and More!

If you’re anything like me and spend a lot of time on the internet, you probably know by now that ijji.com is one of the top few games sites out there. It’s even the 557′th most visited site on the web, according to Alexa Traffic Ratings, and for a great reason.

If you’re into online multiplayer games, ijji has an INCREDIBLE selection, and best of all, they’re all free! You create a free account with ijji, which literally takes 30 seconds, and all the games become available to you for nothing but a quick, free download. Taken from their site, here is the list of games available. All the Action/RPG games have a brief, relatively detailed review as does Chess and Rounders. The rest I have not yet gotten around to playing.

Action/RPG games

  • Drift City - Drift City is one of the best racing games I have ever played on the computer. In my opinion, it is the best option. For those of you who are low on time or money and love racing games, I would recommend downloading this immediately. It’s about 700MB, but it results in hours upon hours of enjoyment. Drift City is a revolutionary concept in Racing Games, and has a detailed storyline. It is for the most part an MMORPG racing game, something I personally have never seen before.

  • Gunbound Revolution - This game is unrealistic and cartoony, and I am not nearly as big a fan of it as I am of Drift City, but it’s still a pretty decent game. It can be fun as a source of comic relief. If you enjoy the concept of choosing a robotic character and then buying as many upgrades as you can for it, then go ahead and try out Gunbound!

  • GunZ The Duel - Ah, GunZ…what an awesome game! If it weren’t for all the people using hacks and other glitches, this game would be truly phenomenal. One of the only online games that can compete with the system games (360, PS3, whatever) in terms of longevity AND fun, not to mention it’s 100% free! However, the makers of GunZ are finally cracking down on these glitchers and this game will finally realize it’s true potential. If you love FPS games, I am willing to GUARANTEE you that you will enjoy this game. It’s a TON of fun.

  • Luminary: Rise of the Goonzu - Sadly, my computer is incabable of handling this game without substantial lag. From what I was able to gather, this is a game based on cooperation and strategy. It is an RPG game, where you’ve got to progress levels to unlock new stuff. There are quests and other features that could add to the longevity of this game. This seems to follow games such as RuneScape in that the graphics interface is very simplistic, but there is a lot of depth and choices that you as a character are able to make. I can’t really give a recommendation, but if you’ve got some spare time, sure! Try it out!

  • Soldier Front - Ahh, the classic. This is one of the games that put ijji on the map. With over 5,500 active players at almost all times of the day, and over 10,000 at peak times, this game is ijji’s most played game. It brings a lot of key gaming factors together, such as strategy/teamwork, shooting, and determination. It is similar to the Call of Duty line, in that you play as a player on a squad, and your objective is to complete the missions. I personally really, really enjoy this game and I think anyone who enjoys multi-player, strategy FPS games would, too. Definitely an AWESOME, free alternative to the Call of Duty lines. Some elements of the game, I’m willing to argue, are even better than Call of Duty.

Card/Board Games

  • Rounders Poker - Well, I already wrote a pretty large review of Rounders Poker which can be found here, at the bottom of the page. The entire read is pretty interesting, so if you like online poker, I’d recommend reading the entire post. If you’re just curious about Rounders Poker, scroll down to the bottom of the linked post.
  • Royal Chess - Definitely not as much motivation for me to play ijji chess as there is for me to play ijji Rounders, I mean; the multi-player is relatively shallow, with about 75 players at peak times, which can’t compete with top chess services. The single-player computer, even at hardest difficulty, is not impossible to beat at all; I generally win two of three matches against the computer, and I’m not even all that good at chess.
  • GoStop - My computer was incapable of playing this multiplayer game, since the server is located in Korea. I never really understood the rules of this game, but I think it’s an Asian card game kind of similar to Poker.

Puzzle Games

Sadly, I never really got into puzzle games and haven’t had the chance to test them out. If you’re interested, be my guest! They sure seem fun ;).

Well, that’s about it for the multiplayer games. But wait! That’s not it! They also have a VAST library of single-player, arcade style games that are equally as addictive, which can be accessed by clicking here. Ijji has a great interface, great forums for customer support, I LOVE it! I STRONGLY recommend checking it out ASAP!
