Two Services that Might be Raising the Bar?

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Before you get any ideas please note that this post has nothing to do with AT&T. In a previous post, we gave you some information about how Online Music Downloading works. Recently, there have been two services that have really interested me, so I decided to try them out. This is more of a review than a comparison, but it’s combined in the same post.

Startup Tips

Starting your own business can make you both rich and successful, but it
can also have a large negative impact on your financial life and may even lead
to health problems. Here are some interesting statistics that you should look at before starting a company.

1) Studies show that one in five Americans will at one point in their life start a businesses
2) Sadly only 20% of these businesses will last to be 5 years old.

This means that although 48 million Americans will start a business, most of them will not be very successful and will not last that long.

Always Be Positive

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

I cannot stress how important this is… Do you realize how much better your life would be if you were always positive. Now don’t lie, even the best of you do not always retain this quality.

You miss a lot of opportunities when you’re not positive. For instance, say that you are trying to get a job. The manager meets with you and listens to what you have to say. If you say it negatively, chances are that the manager is not going to hire you. Ask yourself this question, “Who would want to work with a negative person?” In fact, who would want to even be friends with a negative person? See how this can affect you? See how important it is not to be negative?

People live their lives, and as they do so they want to be happy. It’s plain and simple, negative people do not make you happy. It’s not like you would want to go out and have lunch with someone who is going to be frowning while the food comes, at least I know I wouldn’t want to.

Problem with YouTube Audio?

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

A few days ago, a friend of mine from school told me his YouTube audio stopped working shortly after downloading the newest version of Flash player. I went over to his house and tried numerous ways of fixing it, but nothing helped. I then downloaded the newest version of Flash onto my home PC, and I had the same problem. All other audio works great, it’s just the audio from Flash videos (such as YouTube) that stopped working. Please note that the VIDEO itself works, it’s only the audio. If you have a Windows OS (tested with Vista and XP), this fix should work well for you. There are three possible fixes, so try them all. Here they are;

The 2009 HD Conversion Explained

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Anyone living in the US has most likely heard this by now:

“On February 17, 2009, federal law requires that all full-power television broadcast stations stop broadcasting in analog format and broadcast only in digital format.”

It will be a sad day when this happens for the environment, and possibly the economy. While the government might be giving out $40 coupons in order to help people buy approved converter boxes, the truth of the matter is that most Americans are going to go out and buy new televisions, even if it’s tight on their budget.

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

As a continuation of the previous post about The Benefits of Tagging Your Post, I’m going explain some hidden features of WordPress that you may or may not have known before. In this post, I’m going to cover “Alt + V” or the second WordPress Formatting interface, which is helpful for copy and pasting from MS Word or Notepad, or any other text editor. I’m also going to cover the usage of the <!–more–> tag.

The Benefits of Tagging Your Posts

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

Recently, we at TalkPrice.net have been wondering about the effect tagging our posts may have on our blog. I have decided to take this research into my hands, and I hope to pass on this knowledge to everybody who is interested in this same topic.

There’s not much prerequisite knowledge needed to understand what I’m talking about when I say “tagging” a post, but just in case: if you use WordPress or any other service, the VAST majority will allow you to tag your post. In WordPress, the place where you enter your tags is right under the post itself.

1) WHY SHOULD I TAG?
The simplest answer to give is probably just “why not?”

Cleaner Frontpage

Friday, March 21st, 2008

I just thought I’d like to let my readers know that we’ve decided that the front page should be more crisp and user-friendly. We’ve decided to add “<!–more–>” code onto all of the long posts, to make your viewing experience much smoother, as well as reducing load times dramatically. Hopefully people are happy about this new, crisp look! For tomorrow, we have two posts ready that we’re really happy with, so make sure you check back. Thanks!

Moola Review

Friday, March 21st, 2008

Moola LogoMoola is a revolutionary new site, that pays its users to play games, search, and complete offers. You do not have to spend any money to start, because they give you 1 cent for joining, and another cent every time your account runs out of money. Every time you win a game, you double your money. If you double your money 30 times in a row, you get $10,737,418. This is no scam folks, the money to pay you comes from video adverts that you have to watch every time you play.
